Norwich – 1,500 Protest Johnson’s Coup

Norfolk, you did us proud! We were thrilled with the turnout at the City Hall rally yesterday evening, estimated by the police and the City Hall staff at 1,500. We made the top of the Look East bulletin, and there was even a brief clip of the Norwich crowd on the national 10 O’Clock News. Many thanks to all who came, and to those who wrote to say they were with us in spirit.

Our vice-Chair Stephen McNair introduced the event and the speakers, who were:

  • Karen Davis, Labour councillor for Town Close ward and prospective parliamentary candidate for Norwich North
  • Matthew Fulton-McAlister, Labour councillor for the University Ward in Norwich and former CEO of the European Movement UK
  • Our own Chair, Rob Colwell, Director at Hayes and Storr and LibDem prospective parliamentary candidate in North-West Norfolk
  • Catherine Rowett MEP (The Green Party) and Professor of Philosophy at UEA
