EU Vote – Norfolk Remains Leave
Norfolk experienced the same trends as the rest of the country with the Brexit Party surging ahead and the LibDems and Greens prospering at the expense of Labour and Conservatives – see below.
Leaving aside Labour, Conservatives and Independents, the committed parties polled 44% for Leave and 37% for Remain. All of the local council areas showed majorities for Leave, with the exception of Norwich (24%/53%) and South Norfolk (39%/43%). Broadland was close (43%/40%).
Treating Norfolk as a region with 7 seats and using the d’Hondt system, the following distribution of seats would result: Brexit (3), LibDem (2), Green ( 1), Con (1). This mirrors precisely the result for the East of England Region as a whole.
