Defend Democracy Rallies in Norfolk

Successful rallies took Place in Ely (picture below) and Norwich last Saturday. Catherine Rowett MEP was one of several speakers to a packed hall in Ely. See more photos and the full write-up on their Facebook page (it’s public, so you don’t need to have a Facebook account to see it).

Meanwhile, in Norwich well over 500 people gathered in front of the city hall for a Defend our Democracy rally. The event was chaired by Katy Jon Went, (Pride) and we heard informative and passionate speeches from Clive Lewis MP, Becky Tye of Unison, Martin Schmierer of the Green Party, and Wendy Outwin, a GP in Gt Yarmouth. There was a ‘People’s Parliament’ open mic with some great brief speeches from members of the crowd following the formal speeches. See photos of the occasion here (again, this is a public Facebook page so no need to have an account).
